The Buban were a race that existed thousands of years ago.
They owned merchant freighters on which the Orion slaves Ombrey and Maark served as senior officers. In November 1508 BCE (reference stardate −35/0811) The two Orions stole two of these freighters, named the Revenge and the Fate, in a well-planned heist, leading to the birth of Orion piracy in a legend later known as the Orion Dawn (FASA RPG module: The Orions: Book of Common Knowledge).
- By the context, it is implied that the Buban are an alien race and signatory to Treaty of Kammzdast. However, neither of these points are definite.
