Bursai IV was a planet with ample deposits of talgonite.

In the year 2292, the planet was pulled into real space as a result of Project Shiva.

When a Klingon survey team discovered a Metar portal, as the Klingons suspected an invasion, the 3rd fleet was stationed in orbit of the planet while the site was investigated. The 3rd fleet was severely damaged by a first Metar attack wave and annihilated by the second.

The ships surviving the first attack threw themselves in front of the flagship in order to give its science team time. They managed to stow the computer core on an escape pod and jettison it before the flagship succumbed. In total three escape pods were jettisoned holding the computer core, DugH and Krusk.

Afterwards the Metar from the attacking ships swarmed Bursai IV. (TOS video game: New Worlds)
