"Bushel and a Peck" is a song from the old 20th century musical from Earth, entitled Guys and Dolls.

As a child, Maggie Thompson had this song sung to her by a father as a way to get her to sleep at night. She believed that the song was his invention until she learned of the musical as she grew older. (TOS novel: The Captain's Daughter)
