Buzz Aldrin, born Edwin Eugene Aldrin, Jr., (born January 20, 1930) was a male Human who lived on Earth during the 20th and 21st centuries. He gained historical significance as an astronaut when on July 20, 1969 he became the second human to step foot on the moon following Neil Armstrong. (DS9 - Mission Gamma novel: Twilight)
Legacy[]
When Jonathan Archer was named backup pilot for Earth's first warp 2 flight in 2143, he compared himself to Aldrin, noting no one remembers what Aldrin first said as he stepped onto the moon as he wasn't the first. (ENT episode: "First Flight")
In 2154, Captain Jonathan Archer and Daniels saw an image of Aldrin and Armstrong walking on the Moon in the time stream as the timeline reset itself. (ENT episode: "Storm Front")
Images of Aldrin were among the USS Enterprise computer files accessed by the Talosians in 2254. (TOS episode: "The Cage")
Starfleet later named at least two ships after him, the USS Aldrin in the 23rd century, and the Oberth-class USS Aldrin in the 24th century. (TOS novel: Burning Dreams; NF short story: "Revelations")
