The Calderisi are a humanoid spacefaring species, known to be extremely volatile.
In 2371, the USS Defiant engaged a Calderisi raider that was believed to be transporting illegal weapons to the Maquis. The Calderisi used a weapon that drained the Defiant of its power, although the Defiant was eventually able to destroy their ship. Starfleet later sent the USS Hood to the Calderisi homeworld to demand answers on the type of weapon that the Calderisi had used. (DS9 novel: Objective: Bajor)
