Caldik Prime was a planet, a Federation world that was the prime planet located in the Caldik star system in the galaxy's Alpha Quadrant. (ST reference: Star Charts)

History and specifics[]

Caldik Prime was the site of a Starfleet facility with a hospital.

Doctor Laurie Fitzgerald was assigned as a surgeon at the hospital in 2364, where his specialty was biosynthetics. (VOY novel: The Autobiography of Kathryn Janeway)

Lieutenant Tom Paris was stationed at Caldik Prime when his court-martial offense occurred, an accident that was responsible for the deaths of three officers. Paris initially attempted to cover for his pilot error by falsifying a report, but ultimately admitted the mistake, leading to his court martial and expulsion from Starfleet. Fitzgerald was serving there at that time, although the two officers had never met. (VOY episode & novelization: Caretaker)

In the year 2371, Doctor Fitzgerald left his assignment at Caldik Prime to serve as chief medical officer aboard USS Voyager. (VOY novel: The Autobiography of Kathryn Janeway)
