Captain Proton Magazine was a 20th century science fiction pulp magazine.

History and specifics[]

Circulated at least during the 1930s, this periodical literature showcased characters as seen on The Adventures of Captain Proton TV serials and radio show. (DS9 - Strange New Worlds IV short story: "Captain Proton and the Orb of Bajor")

It featured the tagline "Defender of the Earth". (DS9 - Strange New Worlds IV short story: "Captain Proton and the Orb of Bajor", VOY novel: Captain Proton: Defender of the Earth)

One edition of the publication featured the novella "Children of the Glass" by D.W. "Prof" Smith, as well as the short stories "Death of the Patrol" by Ray Hamil, "Scream and Scream Again" by Lester Lee, and "The Forgotten and Lost Race" by Don Simster. It also included two articles, "The Planets of the Future" and "The City of the Future", and a letter column. (VOY novel: Captain Proton: Defender of the Earth)

Volume 3, Issue 2 of the magazine contained the stories "Captain Proton and the Caverns of Doom" and "Captain Proton and the Sandmen of Mercury". On or prior to the year 1939, the magazine published the stories "Captain Proton's Adventure at Alpha Centauri" and "Captain Proton versus the Moon Men".
