"Captain Proton and the Caverns of Doom" is a 20th century short story, part of the literature of the fictional science fiction series The Adventures of Captain Proton.

History and specifics[]

The story was published in Volume 3, No. 2 of Captain Proton Magazine, Captain Proton's paperback magazine series. It featured Proton battling Lord Dragoon on a river aboard the seagoing vessel Drum.

In the year 1939, Leonard R. Findleson, a.k.a. "Findlehammer" wrote a letter to Captain Proton editor D.W. "Prof" Smith, praising him for the story, then criticizing some of its grammar. (ST - Captain Proton: Defender of the Earth short story: "Letters to Captain Proton")
