The Cardassian Intelligence Bureau was the intelligence agency of the Cardassian Union that replaced the Obsidian Order in 2371. The Bureau continued to operate under the Jem'Hadar when the Cardassians joined the Dominion.

History[]

Alon Ghemor became the leader of the Intelligence Bureau upon its creation. After Skrain Dukat instigated a coup d'état against Meya Rejal, overthrowing the civilian government to reinstate a stratocratic regime that allied Cardassia with the Dominion, which the Intelligence Bureau was folded into. (DS9 novel: The Never-Ending Sacrifice)

In 2374, Elim Garak, when captured by Keevan's Jem'Hadar troops, claimed to be a member of the Cardassian Intelligence Bureau and thus an ally. (DS9 episode: "Rocks and Shoals")

All of Garak's allies were murdered by the CIB. ("In the Pale Moonlight")
