Carl Anderson was a 24th century Human man. He was a career officer in Starfleet, and by the end of the 2360s decade, had reached the rank of lieutenant.
Biography[]
Anderson served as a security officer aboard the USS Enterprise-D in the year 2364. In the Enterprise transporter room, Lieutenant Anderson and Lieutenant Junior Grade Worf took fugitive Starfleet officer Darryl Adin into custody, on the orders of Lieutenant Tasha Yar. Anderson later guarded Adin while he was in the brig, but Yar dismissed Anderson and another guard so she could speak with Adin privately. (TNG novel: Survivors)

Background[]
For the purposes of this wiki, a full lieutenant's rank insignia is shown, but it is just as likely Anderson was a lieutenant junior grade addressed as "lieutenant". No insignia was described in the novel.
