See Perez for other articles with titles that contain, either by relationship or by coincidence, this character's surname.

Carl J. Perez was a 23rd century Human man. He was a botanist who served aboard the Federation starship USS Enterprise in the 2260s under the command of Captain James T. Kirk.

History[]

In 2268, Perez served as the ship's senior botanist and was in charge of the botany laboratory.

He joined the crew of the shuttlecraft Copernicus to survey the tropical planet Tau Omega III, which crash-landed after a solar flare fried the ship's systems. He got separated from his scouting party, and nobody was able to locate him through the dense jungle, even with a tricorder.

He survived and made it back to the shuttle wreck after the rest of his teammates had beamed back to the Enterprise, and made first contact with Fistus, one of the winged Tau Omega III harpies. (TOS - FASA RPG short story: "Planetfall")
