Data as Carlos

Data as Carlos.

Carlos is a character in Dixon Hill holonovels played aboard the USS Enterprise-D.

Fictional biography[]

He was a 20th century adventurer and world traveler from Bogotá, Colombia. Often involved in criminal operations like smuggling, he otherwise kept to a personal code of ethics. He refused to kill and preferred hand-to-hand combat over the use of a gun. He was an old, loyal friend of Dixon Hill. He had a large build, strong hands, and a yellow complexion. He usually wore a navy blue pinstripe suit with a fedora. (Last Unicorn RPG - Holodeck Adventures module: Dixon Hill and the Case of the Golden Serpent)

Carlos was known for having exceptional strength, as well as cunning and integrity. (CCG set: Decipher CCG, card: "Carlos")

Alternate timelines[]

In an alternate timeline, Data as Carlos was pulled into the temporal anomaly crisis. Carlos was skilled in the fields of engineering, science, and medicine. Among the equipment he brought to bear in away team missions were his suit, hypospray, fedora, medkit, star charts, gravimetric scanner, and medical tricorder. (ST video game: Timelines)

History[]

San Francisco Sun

Data with Picard on the holodeck.

Lieutenant Commander Data created Carlos when he joined Captain Jean-Luc Picard on a Dixon Hill adventure in the holodeck in 2364. To excuse his unusual complexion, Picard said he was from South America. In 2365, Data provided the name Carlos for his character. (TNG episodes: "The Big Goodbye", "Manhunt")

Subsequent Dixon Hill holonovels incorporated Carlos as a recurring character. (Last Unicorn RPG - Holodeck Adventures module: Dixon Hill and the Case of the Golden Serpent)

Picard Dixon Hill Seven

Data as Carlos in 2368.

In 2368, Data dressed as Carlos while testing Picard Dixon Hill Seven with William T. Riker and Beverly Crusher. (TNG - Assimilation² comic: "Issue 2")
