Cattle are a form of domesticated bovine animals found on Earth. Female cattle are often referred to as Cows.
Cattle were generally raised as livestock for their milk and their meat. Cattle meat, referred to as beef, was used quite extensively in a number of human dishes. One popular item prepared from cattle meat was steak. Both Jonathan Archer and Charles Tucker III ate steak quite frequently when dining together. (ENT episode Fortunate Son). After participating in Kal'Hyah during the days leading up to the wedding of Jadzia Dax and Worf, Julian Bashir prepared to enjoy a steak when it appeared that Dax was going to cancel the wedding, but was prevented from doing so by Benjamin Sisko. (DS9 episode You Are Cordially Invited).
In some human religious -such as Hinduism, cattle are revered and worshiped.
