Early in the 2380s, shortly before stardate 58118.4, the Starfleet starship USS Cerritos encountered such a Catullan scoutship being fired upon by a Satarran ship. (LD - All in a Sea of Wonders comic: "Issue 1")
On 14 June, 2384, a Catullan vessel discovered an artifact in the Gum Nebula that was believed to be a time portal. The Vomnin Confederacy, abiding by the common protocols for timeline protection, allowed the Federation to retain the device.
On Friday, 6 July 2384 (stardate 61512.7), Agent Gariff Lucsly of the Federation Department of Temporal Investigations reported the discovery by the Catullan vessel and the safe internment of the device in the Eridian Vault to Denobula branch director Marion Dulmur. (DTI eBook: Time Lock)
