By 2381, she held the rank of Lieutenant, serving aboard the USS New York as the tactical officer of the starship.
Cavanagh was serving aboard the New York during the Borg invasion of 2381, manning the phasers and transphasic torpedoes of the starship during the battle in orbit of Alonis. Cavanagh survived the Borg attack on the New York. (ST - Typhon Pact novel: Rough Beasts of Empire)
