Central America was a region on the planet Earth where the North American continent connected to South America.

History and specifics[]

In the 20th century, the region included the nations of Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Panama. (TOS - Khan comic: "Issue 2")

Commander Chakotay was descended from the Rubber Tree People of Central America. (VOY episode: "Tattoo")

According to Khan Noonien Singh, in September 1992 Augment Dictator Alexander Newton annexed the nations of Central America into the North American Coalition. By 1996, Augment infighting led to Central America becoming part of Newton's New American Empire. By the end of 1996, the Augment dictatorships were overthrown.
