Characteristics and historyEdit

Cerium has an atomic mass of 140.12, and was discovered by Humans on Earth's European continent for the first time by scientists working in Sweden and Germany in the year 1803. This highly reactive metal is part of the lanthanide series of heavy elements. (ST reference: Star Fleet Medical Reference Manual)
