Cestus (also known as Zestas) was a class A light blue star located in the space claimed by the Federation government in the galaxy's Beta Quadrant.
History and specifics[]
The star was located in proximity to Bellatrix, near the space of the Gorn Hegemony, which still asserts control over planets in the area. (ST reference: Star Charts)

Cestus supported a star system of multiple planets, including Cestus III and Cestus VII. (TOS episode: "Arena"; TOS - Fortunes of War novel: Dreadnought!)
In 2379, the star was aged due to a conflict among the higher species. Though it nearly came to supernova, it returned to normal as the Federation was in the process of evacuating Cestus III. (TNG - The Q Conflict comic: "Issue 1")
