Cetacean was a 21st century Human journalism communication, a "podcast" as referred to at that time in the 2020s decade.

History and specifics[]

Cetacean was a podcast of the "true crime" genre, being produced by Melinda Silver in the year 2024 following investigations of the sudden disappearance of marine biologist Gillian Taylor in 1986. The podcast also explored curious events coinciding with Taylor's disappearance, such as the alleged Soviet spy caught aboard the USS Enterprise (CVN-65), a case of a miraculously regrown kidney at Mercy Hospital, and an invisible UFO landing in Golden Gate Park.

The podcast ended abruptly with the disappearance of Melinda Silver and her assistant. It was unearthed by historians in 2291 at the request of Gillian Taylor. The last episode was produced in the same year, concluding the podcast 267 years after it started. (TOS novel: Lost to Eternity)
