A cetacean navigation lab is a specialised guidance and navigation laboratory for the use of whales and dolphins, usually coming under the purview of cetacean ops.

In a Federation Galaxy-class starship, the cetacean navigation lab was located at the leading edge of the primary hull, on deck 13. It was connected to other large habitable volumes suitable for cetaceans and other aquatic lifeforms, and included cetacean lifeboats for emergency evacuation purposes. Ongoing research tasks within the lab were undertaken by a mixed crew of twelve Atlantic and Pacific bottlenose dolphins, supervised by two Takaya's whales. These elite specialists studied all theoretical topics in navigation, and passed the recommendations for system upgrades to Starfleet for implementation.
