The Ch'Tang-class was a Klingon Empire starship type, a bird-of-prey class modified as a raider, in Klingon Defense Force service in the 25th century.
Service history and disposition[]
This was a tier 4 starship around the turn of the 2310s decade, after the year 2409. This hull incorporated slots for three fore weapon emplacements and two more to the rear. Engine loadout included impulse engines and warp drive powered by a matter/antimatter warp core reactor, and subspace jump capability. Defended by deflector shields, this vessel also featured a cloaking device. (ST video game: Star Trek Online)
This class of vessels were named for earlier Klingon starships, a 23rd century IKS Ch'Tang and an earlier Klingon bird-of-prey, the 24th century IKS Ch'Tang (IKC-9237).
- Presumably, there would be a new IKS Ch'Tang that would have been the prototype of this class. It is also possible, but not likely given the decades intervening, that the IKC-9237 Ch'Tang was refit to serve as the class ship.
