ChR Phoenix was a Romulan Star Empire Vas Hatham-class bird-of-prey starship of the Romulans' Star Navy under the command of Commander T'Cel in the 23rd and 24th centuries.
Service history and disposition[]
In 2267, a D7/Stormbird-class cruiser engaged the Doomsday machine near the Romulan Neutral Zone, but survived relatively unscathed, watching from afar as the USS Constellation and USS Enterprise battled it. The cruiser then came under attack by the "Critters", an invading threat to the galaxy. Phoenix responded to a distress signal and docked with the D7 to join the fight. The Enterprise also heard the distress call — Captain James T. Kirk, Dr. Leonard McCoy, Security Chief Barry Giotto and others aided the Romulans' retreat from the D7 back to Phoenix before the "Critters" commandeered the D7 and departed the area toward Romulan territory. Phoenix pursued, but eventually lost its trail.
In 2273, Phoenix encountered a Klingon Dreadnought class warship wrecked by the "Critters". The USS Enterprise arrived at the scene, and Commander T'Cel, Kirk and Spock jointly investigated the carnage.

In 2286, T'Cel's Phoenix rendezvoused secretly with the USS Enterprise-A and Kor's IKS Revenge to jointly confront the "Critters". Revenge baited a "Critters" starship while Phoenix and Enterprise remained interlinked and cloaked nearby. When the enemy ship arrived and boarded Revenge, a team from Phoenix and Enterprise helped the few left aboard Revenge to evacuate. Soon afterward, the "Critters" ship opened a wormhole to depart. Phoenix disconnected from Enterprise and drew the intruder's attention so Kirk cold fire a doomsday weapon to collapse the wormhole and destroy the "Critters" ship. Phoenix made it safely through the far side of the wormhole before it sealed shut forever. (TOS comic: "Debt of Honor")
By 2308, Phoenix had managed to return to the Beta Quadrant. In 2308, with T'Cel still aboard, Phoenix transported Jamie Finney out of a holding cell on Qo'noS. (TNG comic: "Cry Vengeance")
