The Chandra system is a star system containing at least five planets located at the edge of Federation space, on its border with the Klingon Empire in the Beta Quadrant.
History and specifics
The Chandra system was site of one of the opening moves of the Federation-Klingon War of 2267. The Klingons occupied Chandra IV eight months prior, enslaving its industrial pre-warp civilization to manufacture weapons. The USS Enterprise (NCC-1701) was sent there to disrupt these supplies in preparation for the war, which after much diplomatic effort, Starfleet saw as inevitable.
