Checkpoint Charlie was a border crossing between East Berlin and West Berlin located at the Berlin Wall. It was located a couple of blocks southeast of Brandenburg Gate. In 1974, Corporal Erich Kilheffer knew that even if the fugitives he was pursuing (Gary Seven and Roberta Lincoln) made it to Checkpoint Charlie, they wouldn't escape due to the East German forces stationed there.
