History and specifications[]
The Cheirax was the first vessel equipped with the enhanced fluidic energy focusing array. This special weapon allowed the Cheirax to channel the energy of nearby biopships into a devastating beam. The design of this bioship and its weapon console was an evolution of the tier 5-rated Nicor-class bio-warship from the 2400s. In the year 2410, the Cheirax, alongside the bioship Kiwavi, was acquired by the pact between the United Federation of Planets, Klingon Empire and Romulan Republic, the Khitomer Alliance. From 2410 onwards, flag officers of the Alliance could deploy the Cheirax alongside other spacecraft for assignments across the galaxy's quadrants as part of Operation: Delta Rising's four-quadrant strategy. (STO - New Dawn mission: "Admiralty System")
