Chekote was an admiral in the Federation Starfleet stationed at Starbase 227 in the 24th century.
Biography[]
Following repeated attacks by a Bajoran extremist faction known as The Circle in 2370, Admiral Chekote employed the Prime Directive and ordered the evacuation of Deep Space 9 following an attempt to take over the station. He stood by his orders even following being presented evidence that the Cardassian Union was supporting the activities of the group. (DS9 episode: "The Circle")
Later in the same year, Admiral Chekote gave Commander William T. Riker permission to postpone the USS Enterprise's mission to investigate Captain Picard's apparent death on Dessica II. (TNG episode: "Gambit")
