Cheleb-khor was a region on Vulcan and was located in the Tat'sahr province.
It was located in the southern most edge of the Tat'sahr province and bordered on the Shi'al province. It was known as a harsh desert which was named after Ket-cheleb, the Vulcan god of anger. This region consisted of several hundred kilometers of the harshest known on the Vulcan homeworld. It was noted as being quite a dangerous area for unwary travelers and was typically the location where Vulcan children commenced the traditional tests for their adulthood.
This ritual was the kahs-wan and required young Vulcans to cross a section of the Cheleb-khor desert; the area more commonly known as Vulcan's Forge. The journey itself took about ten days time where participants journeyed from east to west during which time the child was test by relying on themselves without getting help or even talking to any other child he saw. Those that passed were accepted as adults by their families whereupon a ceremony was conducted on the family's own sacred ground or even at a major temple such as the one at Mount Seleya.
The Cheleb-khor was not the only place where the kahs-wan was conducted but it was where the kahs-wan tradition was strongest. A number of hostels dedicated to the kahs-wan were present on the borders of the Cheleb-khor where facilities were present for young people from all over Vulcan.
