The Cheron systems are two star systems in the galaxy's Beta Quadrant and another Federation system, that are all commonly referred to as "Cheron".
- It is unclear if there is a greater overall connection between the systems to explain why they share the same name, or if it is simply coincidence and possibly confusion on the part of the various characters referring to them. In actuality, the dual naming seems to have been devised for ST reference: Star Charts to explain how the Battle of Cheron mentioned in TNG episode: "The Defector" could have occurred without the combatants being aware of the Cheronian homeworld. However, since that was not explained in any text beyond the markings on the chart, at least two major sources, ST reference: Federation: The First 150 Years and ENT - The Romulan War novel: To Brave the Storm, have placed the battle at 83 Leonis.
Cheron (Omicron Gruis)[]

The Cheron system (also known as Omicron Gruis or Chiron) is a Romulan Neutral Zone system that was the site of the Battle of Cheron (and the Battle of Cheron in the mirror universe as well). This system is visible from Sol in the constellation of Grus. (ST reference: Star Charts)
In the Kelvin timeline, this system is located inside Romulan space. (ST video game: Fleet Command)
Cheron (83 Leonis)[]

The Cheron system (also known as 83 Leonis) is the homeworld of Cheron natives, and is also close to the Romulan Star Empire and their Neutral Zone. This system is visible from Earth in the constellation of Leo. (ST reference: Star Charts)
Cheron VI system[]
