A Chicken (Gallus gallus domesticus) is a type of domesticated bird found on Earth. The chicken is believed to be descended from the wild Indian and south-east Asian Red Junglefowl.
Chickens provide two sources of food frequently consumed by humans, their meat, and their eggs. A wide variety of foods can be prepared from both chicken meat and eggs. Chicken-and-quadrotriticale soup is one such dish. (TOS novel: Spock Must Die!).
