Christopher Marlowe (26 February 1564 – 30 May 1593) was a human author native to England on the planet Earth.
Trelane was quoting from the Marlowe play Doctor Faustus when conversing with Teresa Ross. (TOS episode & novelization: The Squire of Gothos)
Christopher Marlowe also wrote the play Tamburlaine the Great in the 16th century. This play was a favorite of Commodore Lucian Murat and Doctor Janice Eardman. (TNG novel: The Forgotten War)
