The Christopher Pike Medal of Valor

The Christopher Pike Medal of Valor was a prestigious medal awarded to Starfleet officers in recognition of remarkable leadership, meritorious conduct and acts of personal bravery. The award was named in honor of former Starfleet Fleet Captain Christopher Pike. The award featured an image of Pike and the Latin phrase sic semper tyrannis. (ST reference: Star Trek Encyclopedia)

In late 2374, Captain Benjamin Sisko received this medal from Starfleet Command for his role in the Dominion War, in particular for his acts of personal bravery displayed during Operation Return. (DS9 episode: "Tears of the Prophets")

Captain Solok of the USS T'Kumbra received two of these medals, the second in early 2375. (DS9 episode: "Take Me Out to the Holosuite")

In 2376, during the USS Defiant's exploration mission in the Gamma Quadrant, Elias Vaughn planned to recommend Ezri Dax for the Pike Medal of Valor when they returned home for her actions helping the Inamuri. (DS9 - Mission Gamma novel: Twilight)

Apocrypha

The ebook The Dominion War Sourcebook: The Fires of Armageddon, published by Last Unicorn Games after they had lost their Star Trek licence, lists additional recipients if this medal. Bentok Vithsoomparul, a Tellarite held the award, and in 2375, Captain Roger Osmont and his crew were posthumously awarded the medal when the USS Carpathia rammed a Jem'Hadar carrier.
