The Chrysler Building is a skyscraper located in New York City. Built in the Art Deco style, construction started in 1928 and finished in 1931. It was briefly the tallest building on Earth until the nearby Empire State Building was completed. (Historical Accounts)

History and specifics[]

In 1974, Khan Noonien Singh spotted several New York City landmarks, including the Chrysler Building, while on top of Gary Seven's apartment building. It provided proof that he had truly transported in an instant from New Delhi, India. (TOS novel: The Rise and Fall of Khan Noonien Singh, Volume 1)

The Chrysler Building was still standing in the 2250s, when it was used to house the Christopher Institute. While the USS Enterprise was undergoing repairs in orbit, several crew members visited the Chrysler Building on a tour of New York City. José Tyler pointed out the gargoyles on the building were styled after Plymouth automobile hood ornaments, whereas Spock noted that the gargoyles resembled Taguan effigies of the Great Bird of the Galaxy. (TOS comic: "The Fallen")
