The Clarke-class was a type of Federation starship in the 23rd century, a subclass of the Oberth-class science vessel. (TOS - The Tabukan Syndrome comic: "Battle Stations!")

By the 25th century, this subclass would have been retired entirely, being succeeded in name by the Clarke-class multi-mission command cruiser. (STO - House United mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock"
