Clarus was a star system, a trinary star located somewhere in the space of the galaxy's Alpha Quadrant.

History and specifics[]

The Clarus system's orbit was the location of a number of worlds, including fourth planet Clarus IV and ninth planet Clarus IX.

Clarus is in the vicinity of Ferenginar, Irtok and Epsilon Cygni. This trinary consists of a type K orange star as its primary, a type G yellow star as its secondary, and a type M red star as its tertiary. (ST reference: Star Charts)

In the year 2374, Kira Nerys told Quark and Rom that if the Dominion had plans to invade Ferenginar, they would conquer Clarus first before moving on to the capital of the Ferengi Alliance. (DS9 episode: "Profit and Lace")

In 2376, an Orion transport brought Quark and Ro Laren to the Clarus system and then through an Iconian Gateway to Farius Prime. Quark, Ro, Treir and Ychell Mafon later used a Bajoran Militia flitter to escape the Orion Syndicate through the gateway back to the Clarus system. (DS9 - Gateways novel: Demons of Air and Darkness)

In 2386, Historian Geoffrey Mandel included Clarus in his star chart Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385. (ST reference: Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library)
