A class-7 probe
A class-7 probe or more specifically class VII cultural observation probe was a type of probe used by the Federation Starfleet in the 24th century.
Technical specifications[]
The probes were essentially modified class-5 probes and had a range of 4.5x108 kilometers. They were powered by a micro fusion engine which could propel them at warp 1.5. Their sensors included a passive data gathering system plus subspace transmitter. (TNG reference: Star Trek: The Next Generation Technical Manual)
In addition to that, these probes had a hull made from stealth material and a low-yield molecular detonation packet linked to detectors registering unauthorized access to the probe. They had a maximum endurance of 3.5 months. (TNG reference: Star Trek: The Next Generation Technical Manual)
