Claustrophobia is the fear of being in a small space or room and being unable to escape. The condition was present in a number of species, including humans, Cardassians, and Klingons.

Elim Garak had a severe case of claustrophobia. He was forced to face his condition when working to help Julian Bashir, Worf, and Martok escape from Dominion imprisonment in Internment Camp 371. (DS9 episode: "By Inferno's Light")

A couple years later Garak kept a large Klingon male who had been stuck in a service tube suffered an attack of claustrophobia. (DS9 novel: A Stitch in Time)
