Clavius Mines were a group of 21st century mining outpost facilities on Luna in the Sol system.

History and specifics[]

The mines were established very early in the history of lunar exploration.

On reference stardate 0/04, the facility employed a mass driver to propel mined ores and other materials into Earth orbit, where they would be refined. (ST reference: Spaceflight Chronology)

The operation was likely named for 16th century astronomer Christopher Clavius.
