Coburn.
Coburn was a Human man who lived in the 24th century.
Biography[]
In the 2370s decade, Coburn was a rear admiral serving in Starfleet.
During the Dominion War, Coburn was a member of the Starfleet Command unit for the sector Starbase 375 was located in, along with William Ross and Sitak. In the year 2374, Ross had planned to discuss a Starfleet ground assault on Centaurus IX and a series of distraction skirmishes with Coburn and Sitak. Ross would later set aside his plans to allow Benjamin Sisko to gain approval for his plan to retake Deep Space 9 by discussing it with Coburn and Sitak. (DS9 novelization: ...Sacrifice of Angels)
During the meeting, Coburn was concerned that the Dominion would attack Earth, rather than divert its forces to stop Sisko from retaking Deep Space 9. (DS9 episode: "Favor the Bold", DS9 novelization: ...Sacrifice of Angels)

Background[]
While the script and novelization have his name spelled "Coburn", the credits bore a typo that left his name rendered as "Cobum". While ST reference: The Star Trek Encyclopedia carries an annotation regarding the fact that the on-screen credit was an error, that volume's entry for the character reflects that spelling.
