The Cochrane Foundation for the Study of Multiphysics (also known as the Cochrane Foundation of Alpha Centauri) was a Human founded institution named after Zefram Cochrane, based on Centauri B II. After the disappearance of Micah Brack during the Optimum Movement era, the bulk of Brack's fortune went to the Foundation. (ST novel: Federation)
Following the death of his wife, Monica, Cochrane changed his will and bequeathed the entirety of his estate to the Foundation. He subsequently left the colony and disappeared. (ST novel: Federation)
