Cole was a Human operative of Section 31 in the 24th century.

Biography[]

During the Dominion War in the 2370s decade, Cole posed as a Doctor Murdock and was assigned to work on New Beijing along with Doctor Ethan Locken. It was there that he befriended the genetically enhanced Human, and is suspected to have orchestrated the events that led to the massacre of the colony's inhabitants by the Jem'Hadar as well as the survival of Locken. No evidence has surfaced to confirm this allegation.

In the year 2376, he approached Julian Bashir and told him of Ethan Locken's activities on Sindorin. After Bashir's successful mission in neutralizing Locken and his Jem'Hadar soldiers, Cole led the Section 31 night strike team that leveled the compound and ensured that no data left the compound. (DS9 - S31 novel: Abyss)

In 2382, L'Haan reflected that she thought neither Cole or Luther Sloan had the same insight into Bashir that she had. (ST - Typhon Pact novel: Zero Sum Game)

In 2386, under the guise of a mission to prevent the Breen Confederacy from acquiring a jaunt ship from the mirror universe, Cole recruited Bashir and Sarina Douglas into Section 31. While Bashir and Douglas were under the impression that stopping the Breen was their mission, Cole's true assignment was to capture the quantum window technology from Memory Omega. He and the rest of the team were captured and imprisoned by Director Saavik on an alternate Bajor in which sentient life never evolved. (S31 novel: Disavowed)
