Colfax was a Starfleet lieutenant. He wore the red command division uniform.
In 2372, Lieutenant Colfax was an aide to Admiral Dulev on Starbase 201. Colfax was present at the meeting where Admiral Dulev asked Benjamin Sisko to assemble a team to rescue a Groxxin scientist from the Dominion. Later, the USS Excalibur brought Colfax to Deep Space 9, where he provided Kira Nerys and Worf with experimental cloakers for their mission. (DS9 novel: The Heart of the Warrior)
