The Colonial Battalions is a branch of the Romulan Star Empire military service that is tasked with the development, expansion and protection of Romulan colonies.
History and specifics[]
Though not as pacifistic as the Federation, the Colonial Battalion do frown on the brute force favored by the Klingons. They tend to prefer surveillance and scientific study over such actions. The Colonial Battalions are equipped with anti-gravity vehicles and static defense emplacements. It has resulted in many Romulan colonial systems being based on infiltration and espionage, with cloaking systems playing an important part in most planetary affairs. (ST video game: New Worlds)
