Communication array

B'lii system communication array, 2409.

A communication array was a Federation space-born installation, a type of satellite for communication purposes in Starfleet service from the 24th century.[1] They could be boarded by an engineering team but operated on automation, without crew.[2] (STO - Common Ground missions: "B'lii System Patrol", "Traelus System - Satellite Repair")

History and specifications[]

In 2388, the Starfleet Corps of Engineers deployed a series of subspace boosters in the B'lii system to extend signals from ships exploring the Badlands and Rolor Nebula. (STO - Cardassian Struggle mission: "B'lii System Patrol")

During the Federation-Klingon War of 2405-2410 and related conflicts, communication arrays were located in star systems in the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. (STO - Common Ground missions: "B'lii System Patrol", "Traelus System - Satellite Repair")

In 2409, three communication arrays, named Aello, Ocypete and Podarge, gathered intelligence on the Klingons from their location in the Traelus system. The Klingon Defense Force sabotaged them surreptitiously. A Starfleet detachment sent to repair the satellites by Franklin Drake of Section 31 was attacked by True Way forces, which they destroyed. (STO - Spectres mission: "Traelus System - Satellite Repair")

Solanae sensor array

Sensor array, 2409.

Later that year, a Starfleet ship repaired the seven communication arrays in the B'lii system while repelling True Way forces loitering in the Federation-controlled system. (STO - Cardassian Struggle mission: "B'lii System Patrol")

A communication array was deployed to serve as sensor array in the Contested Zone of the Solanae Dyson Sphere. Due to Voth sabotage, the sensor array was disabled. An Allied vessel repaired the array. (STO - Solanae Dyson Sphere mission: "Repair Damaged Sensor Array")

On stardate 84999.22, in January 2411, Fenris Ranger Seven of Nine used the USS Crow River to investigate data from a Traelus system satellite that indicated a Borg presence. (STO - Legacy mission: "Measure of Morality (Part 1)")
