The Concord type consisted of a circular saucer section atop a single warp nacelle and nacelle pylon. A raised section was attached behind the bridge module, terminating in the ship's shuttlebay. The Concord type looked like a Einstein-class survey ship sans engineering hull. (TOS - Boldly Go comic: "Issue 1")

On stardate 2258.61, the model starship display in the USS Aegis observation lounge included a Concord-type starship, right beside an Einstein-class vessel. (ST video game: Bridge Crew)
In 2263, the USS Concord encountered a Borg sphere and was sliced up by it. Among the survivors was Lieutenant Commander Hikaru Sulu. Captain Craig Terrell suffered assimilation at the hands of the Borg. (TOS - Boldly Go comic: "Issue 1")
