A concussion was a type of head injury.

History and specifics[]

In the year 2259 of the Kelvin timeline, Hikaru Sulu got a concussion when USS Enterprise shuttle 1209 crashed on Phaedus IV. (TOS - Countdown to Darkness comic: "Number One")

In 2266, Doctor Leonard McCoy diagnosed Captain James T. Kirk (actually a Klingon duplicate) as possibly having a concussion from his injuries on the planet Beta II. (TOS comic: "The Enterprise Mutiny")

In 2367, Captain Jean-Luc Picard received a slight concussion when debris hit his head, and then was struck repeatedly during a panicked stampede on Modala. (TNG - The Modala Imperative comic: "Prior Claim")
