The Conrad was a Federation Type-4 shuttlecraft in service to Starfleet in the 23rd century. The shuttle was assigned to the starship USS Enterprise in the 2270s.

Service history[]

In 2273, the Conrad transported Rear Admiral James T. Kirk, Spock, Leonard McCoy and security officers Barnes, Emigh and Padilla to Calibus VII. McCoy was to be honored for recently helping to cure a scourge of Appalian viral pox on the planet, but during Conrad's approach, Spock was unable to hail the colony, and the shuttlecraft landed in a seemingly abandoned center of town.

The colonists had become infected with a plague that made them act like zombies. Padilla and Barnes were bitten and altered by the disease, after which they headed toward the Conrad. Fearing the men might still be able to operate the shuttle in their condition, and possibly spread the infection to the Enterprise or another colony, Kirk, Spock and McCoy fired Atalskes phaser IVs on Conrad, triggering an explosion that destroyed the shuttle.
