Constellation (NX-04) was a 22nd century United Earth spacecraft, an NX-class starship in United Earth Starfleet service in the 2150s decade. Constellation was the fourth ship of its class and one of five remaining NX-class ships in service in by the year 2160. (ST reference: Federation: The First 150 Years)

Early in the 22nd century, the fledgling United Earth Starfleet constructed a vessel named Constellation, which served as a prototype. (ENT novel: Daedalus's Children)
The civilian Earth Cargo Service operated the freighter ECS Constellation on interstellar trade lanes. It remained active into the year 2153. (ENT episode: "Horizon")
The Romulan War[]
The Constellation was launched in 2156, shortly before the outbreak of the Romulan War. When the war began, the Warp 5 fleet stayed outside the system while slower ships defended Sol.
In 2160, the Constellation was unable to participate in the Battle of Cheron because the ship underwent repairs after successfully defending Starbase 2. (ST reference: Federation: The First 150 Years)
