Throughout the history of the universe, there have been multiple timelines, alternate realities and parallel universes that have all contained versions of the starship type commonly known as Constitution-class, as well as various refits and facsimiles.
By the year 2411, Federation Starfleet and its Khitomer Alliance partners operated several variants, subclasses and refits of the Constitution-class, dating from the 2240s to the 2410s, and including variants from the Kelvin timeline and the mirror universe. The Constitution-class was a type of starship operated by the Terran Empire Imperial Starfleet as a heavy cruiser and flagship in the 2250s of the Kelvin timeline mirror universe. One notable member of the class was the ISS Enterprise, which launched in 2258. The Enterprise was destroyed by the Romulan mining ship Narada when James T. Kirk took it over and killed Nero.
