Continuing the Line was a roleplay module for FASA's Star Trek: The Role Playing Game written in 1985. Unique among adventure modules, it featured a crossover with the company's Combots board game. It was Dale L. Kemper's third TOS module, and the fourth of eleven licensed adventures published in FASA magazines, this one in Stardate Magazine #5/6.

Description[]

The adventure takes place in orbit around and on the planet Aeon VI, in the outer fringe of the Federation Exploration Zone. The Enterprise (or other Starfleet or merchant vessel) comes into orbit, where it is attacked by a number of warrior robots coming from the planetary surface. After successfully warding off this attack, sensors discover an alien complex on the surface of this barren world. Built of some unknown material, it seems to be reactivating itself as the ship beams down a landing party to investigate.
The Combots game is not necessary for play, and brief rules are provided to aid those gamers not familiar with the Combots system to interface it with Star Trek: The Role-Playing Game.

Summary[]

When a Federation starship or independent trader vessel approaches Aeon VI, 30 armed robots launch from a surface to attack. Their launch point is a facility composed of an unusually dense material that blocks transporters, but a team is able to enter and explore its interior. They find it to be an advanced, automated combot self-replication factory, with a main computer that directs newly-manufactured robots to intercept the interlopers.
