Continuity is a settlement, the capital city residence for a 23rd century joint Human/Klingon colony on Sheridan's World, a planet located in the Organian Treaty Zone.
History[]
Continuity was founded near fertile soil and abundant water about 11 kilometers from the base of an extinct volcano on a shallow plateau, about 15° latitude above the planet's equator. (FASA RPG module: Conflict of Interests)
The settlers arrived in 2268, on reference stardate 2/0906, following a colonial initiative among 100 Humans and 100 Klingons orchestrated by the Organians. (FASA RPG module: Star Trek IV Sourcebook Update)
Seven years after settling, disease caused crop failure. The next year, crops failed again, increasing tensions among the population. The year after, continued civil unrest led to establishment of a dual monarchy system with co-directors Thadeus MacDonald and Kexor sutai-Pallara installed as kings, and construction began on their palace.
Twelve years after settling, struggles lead to a food riot that cost one colonist their life.
Fifteen years after settling, the site had grown to a population of about 250 and spread over a region about 5 kilometers wide by 3.2 kilometers tall. Residents maintained a flock of 15,000 sherrin, a native sheep-like animal. They domesticated the tuballoy, similar to an ox, for use as draft animals. Some of the Human residents had also brought zandans, a horse breed native to Zannaduu IV. Electricity was provided by a solar power array and a small nuclear power generator. A hydroelectric power plant was under construction. (FASA RPG module: Conflict of Interests)
In that year, 2283, on reference stardate 2/2104, delegates from the Federation and Klingon Empire met with the citizens. A vote was taken to determine whether the colony would become neutral or ally with one of the powers. (FASA RPG modules: Conflict of Interests, Star Trek IV Sourcebook Update)
